Charifa Smith

CEO

Charifa Smith brings 20 years of entrepreneurial experience starting from her small town in Oklahoma to where she is today, as CEO of Mother’s Reserve Group, an international consulting business. She is a highly skilled senior management consultant with considerable experience across multiple industries including the Private and Public Sectors, Energy and Utilities, Distribution, Telecommunications, Media and Entertainment. She specializes in client experience, business process re-engineering, business requirements development,  customer relationship management, international law, and organizational analysis. She has led multiple teams in the successful development and implementation of new business models.

 

Charifa is the immediate past Executive Director of the Federal Judicial Learning Center and Museum located in the US Federal Courthouse of the Western District of Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Spelman College and her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Charifa has lived and worked in many major cities throughout the world, including New York City, London, and Johannesburg. She has traveled throughout Africa, Asia, and Europe and has a passion for international affairs and foreign policy demonstrated through her past research work with the Council on Foreign Relations and internship at the United Nations Headquarters located in New York City. She has also worked in Corporate America as a Financial Analyst in Network Development at American Express.

 

Charifa has worked extensively in the development and implementation of programs in empowerment for women and children, entrepreneurship, and economic research. She is the immediate past President of the Oklahoma City Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc. and served as a National Chair, where she organized a national conference event for 1500 people. She has served on the Board of John Rex Charter Elementary and Middle School in Downtown Oklahoma City. She is a Member of the Leadership Oklahoma City Signature Program, Past Founder and Chairman of the Deep Deuce Business Association, Charter Member of the Board of Children's Defense Fund, Freedom School Oklahoma City, and Past Trustee of the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools. In 2011, Charifa was appointed by the Mayor to serve as a Commissioner for the Oklahoma City Arts Commission. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, Kevin and 3 daughters, Addis, Ellis and Harper.
