Basheerah Ahmad

Basheerah Ahmad is a woman who understands what it takes to impact the lives of others. Her love for performing and working with inner city youth, led her to receive the coveted title of Miss Black America in 1996. Basheerah spent her reigning year traveling the country promoting Healthy Living through the Arts.   Ms Ahmad was raised understanding that education can open many doors even if your opportunities appear limited. Consequently, she holds a BBA in Business Management, a MHR in Organizational Development, a MS in Exercise Science and is currently finishing a Doctorate in Natural Medicine. While completing her education she continues to work in the areas closest to her heart, such as, youth education,  empowerment, and women entrepreneurship.  Ms. Ahmad actively volunteers as a youth mentor, dance instructor, and wellness advisor for her community. 

 

After years of hard work and preparation, she is a highly sought after International Health and Wellness Expert.  Basheerah has been featured as a recurring Fitness Expert on NBC-Universal’s Radius,  Dr. Phil, ‘The Doctors’,  VH1's Hollywood's Hottest Bodies, America Now, The Daily Share and The Today Show and The National Body Challenge on the Discovery Channel.  Basheerah is the advanced Fitness Expert and program developer for Rick Warren’s the Daniel Plan and the PINK Method and has authored two books; Love yourself enough to be healthy: 50 affirmations to your best life and The 4321 Nutrition Plan.   She is also a contributing author to the Daniel Plan in Action educational series, published by Zondervan.  Ms. Ahmad currently acts as a health consultant for the Oklahoma City Health Department and continues to provide health programs for her celebrity clientele.

 

Always an entrepreneur at heart, Ms. Ahmad has operated her Wellness Company, Bring Joy LLC, for the last 5 years and has produced several fitness video series and healthy product lines. She is Co-founder and President of Mother’s Reserve Group, an International Business Consulting Company.

 

Basheerah is the 2012 recipient of the Zora B. Brown award for her service in Health and the Arts.   The achievement Ms. Ahmad is most proud of is climbing to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro in July of 2013, to raise money to build clean water wells in West Africa.
